1997 Flashback : Autumn Leaf.

I was just walking our dog and enjoying the foliage when it occurred to me that it would be fun to make an illustration of an autumn leaf. Then I had this feeling that I might have done this already in the past. I came inside and looked through my shelf of sketchbooks from way back. Sure enough, I found this Sharpie drawing in one of my notebooks from my junior year of high school. Enjoy :) Zoom.

Untho Collaboration.

Just received word from my friend Alessio at Untho Clothing (Italy), the tee I designed for their F/W 2010 Collaborations Collection is now available. A nice cold color palette with the design spelling out U-N-T-H-O. *Also available in Grey or Maroon colorway. Zoom.

Saturday Session.

Painted this one for my girlfriend today. It was fun returning to the organic style (1 + 2 + 3) I was exploring last Summer. Especially since the last few I've painted (1 + 2 + 3) were really crisp. Zoom.
It's just simple cursive at the foundation. Through adding fast and gestural layers, soft overspray, and busy textures it gains depth and becomes more abstract. Good times! Zoom.

Warm Breeze. Cool Day.

One last preview from Cycles & Seasons. At the press now!

Trigonometry Op-Art.

My new series of Type-Treatments is coming along nicely. Here's my rendition for the month of May. Groovy, no? Zoom.

Typography Alive.

Still grinding on my new series of Type Treatments. These are fun to work on. I feel like I'm playing big kid Tetris! The "A" in April couldn't be more weird, and the Moiré Pattern is in full effect. Zoom.
For December's treatment I mashed it together, fused letterforms, and gave it some healthy precipitation accumulation. Zoom.

MWM Graphics : October Newsletter.

MWM Graphics : October Newsletter. After years of Internet hustlin', and dozens of Email Blasts, I finally figured out how to do HTML + Images + Links Newsletters. Contact to be added to Mailing List.

Text Finesse : Before & After.

I've been working on some new Type Treatments for a set of 12 words (Bet you can't guess what they'll be for. Ha :) This one is an interesting example of how my process usually goes. The first is what I saw in my mind before beginning. Once it was on my screen I was able to ponder new directions and alternate versions. I'm fond of both of them, but I never would've imagined the second one without physically rendering the first. That's the fun part. That's the magic. Zoom.

More iPhone Photographs.

By Any Means Necessary.

Just wrapped up another set of Type Designs for my friends over at Iconoclast. Can't wait to show the entire line of a dozen graphic tees. It is always an honor working on a new brand's debut collection.

Liquid Gold.

I recently purchased a new set of Holbein Gouache to pick up where I left off on my ongoing Hexagon Series. Now it's time for the fun details. Gouache is an amazing paint to work with. Super strong pigment, vibrant color mixing (without mudding), and it dries fast. I think of it as a water-based rival to xylene-based 1 Shot Enamel, except it is more forgiving and less toxic. Stay tuned.

Here's a preview of a recent vector illustration. A psychedelic tribute to Cycling, Symmetry, and Optical Illusions. Playing off of the vibe of my Momentum Poster Series from last Summer, with the raw monochrome vibe of This One and These. MWM X Chiarelli : Rock N' Roll Series.

Excited to share news of this recent collaboration with my friend James Chiarelli. We've been working since June, and everything is now ready to rock. 3 hand-painted Telecasters and 9 effects pedals.
The Guitars are available completed with Fender standard series necks, Jason Lollar pickups, and vintage style Fender hardware. Hand-painted by yours truly. Click-Zoom.
Contact for pricing and availability. *Worldwide shipping is available.
"The Tele is a design that in many ways hasn’t changed since the 50’s. It is the “work truck” of guitars. Not as seductive as the Les Paul or the Stratocaster, but it is second to none when it comes to function. Joe Strummer, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Merle Haggard are all associated with the utilitarian Telecaster." -Chiarelli
Painting the set of 9 pedals as puzzle pieces was fun. Each is available on it's own. But why not grab 3 in a row of different effects? Available Effects : Fuzzface, Jordan Bosston fuzz pedals, and DOD Overdrive 250. Click-Zoom.
"The pedals are hand built using true-bypass switches, high quality jacks, and NOS transistors. All of the parts were chosen for sound rather than economics. The transistors in each pedal are to the circuit board so the user can try different transistors for varying tonalities. I chose circuits that are pretty explosive sounding. For example, the Fuzzface is most closely associated with Jimi Hendrix." -Chiarelli
View Slideshow of our process in my Painting Studio and James's Workshop. Really fun project. Big Thanks to James. And a Big Cheers to everyone who creates great Rock N' Roll music!
