Interviewed. CPLUV.

Last week I had a great conversation with Matthew Newton from CPLUV, a top design web-magazine from France. We pretty much covered all the bases, everything from my early days learning about vectors, to inspiration and dreams, to balancing client work with personal work. A well rounded interview. Thanks Matthew & CPLUV. This is an honor, I have been an everyday visitor to this site for years. MWM Graphics - CPLUV Interview.

MWM - Revolve Show. Tomorrow Night!

REVOLVE. 8542 Melrose Avenue. Los Angeles, CA.

Los Angeles. Part 2.

Today my homie Jack and I cruised all around the vast world of LA in search of fresh art, design, and fashion. Stopped in at Class Tradeshow to say what up to big bro Christopher Bevans. Always great to see Chris, his new line is top-notch. Class is a great tradeshow that showcases forward thinking brands on the green/sustainable push. Well done. Then we dipped back over to West Hollywood, the land of Flagship Retail Stores. Many of the top street-level fashion brands are represented here. Each has it's own unique retail experience. Supreme has a skate bowl instore. Alife merch is 100% behind glass walls. The Hundreds has a rad installation in the wall, kinda like an ant farm with miniature trees and such. Undefeated has an impressive array of fly footwear, mostly swooshes. I have endless respect for these brands, always ahead of the curve. Streetwear is alive and well in LA.

Los Angeles.

I'm out in LA this week for my showing at Revolve Clothing on Wednesday night. It has been nine years since I was last here, and a whole lot has changed since the days when my aunt would kick down Greyhound money for me painting her lawn furniture and weeding her garden. Here are a few completely random photos from my meanderings this morning. This place is a trip. Click-Zoom.

Radiohead.

Just got back from and awesome Radiohead show at the Tweeter Center. These dudes know how to put on a live show. Two thumbs up.

A closer look.

I spend a ridiculous amount of time glued to my computer screen designing things that will not be printed, fabricated, or produced for many months... sometimes years. Like SS.010 (yeah, people are calling it 0-10. Weird, right?). Well, tonight I did a little digging through my photos from this summer and these three brought me back to reality. A reality with overspray, imperfections, drips, canvas texture, the smell of fresh textile, and best of all... the unexpected results that happen with real-life art supplies. The "magic" as we artists like to call it. Check out the cracked paint on the second canvas. Rad! Click-Zoom.

Jockin' Jay-Z.

"If I wasn't me I'd probably jock me too." Full song.

Tee Design. "Art Is Not Mute."

Last week I jammed on this monochrome tee design for Mega's new endeavor, Audio Aesthetics. I'm psyched on how the graphic turned out, a good balance of funky form and semi-legible typography. Stay tuned for some fresh projects and events from Mega's camp in the coming months. These guys throw great parties. Click-Zoom.

Rainy Monday. 9 great books.

I try to hit a different bookstore every week to keep up on their magazine and book selection. It is pretty easy in Boston to find new spots with different material, even in the age of chain stores. My favorite spots are Trident on Newbury, The Coop in Harvard Square, Harvard Bookstore on Mass Ave, and today's spot, Barnes & Noble at Boston University (not your typical B&N, this place is dialed). These are some of the books that cut through my ADD and held my attention today. Fascinating, entertaining, informational, and psychedelic. My type of curriculum.
