Matt W. Moore : Vincci Bit Barcelona.

MATT W. MOORE : VINCCI BIT BARCELONA. 4th floor corridor mega mural at the new Vincci Bit Hotel in Barcelona. 50 meters long. 14 gallons of paint. 2 weeks of painting. Photos and video tell the story, but you need to walk through the hallway in real life to get the true illusion experience. Watch Video Full Screen.

The Color Story of the corridor was fun to work with. I decided to go with a spectrum of Secondary Colors (Oranges, Greens, Purples) and some Greys/Blacks. Instead of mixing the whole hallway up with color I treated each panel as it's own section of a bigger story. So the ratios of color change as you pass from one end to the next. Blazing Oranges at one end and Tranquil Purples at the other end, and a healthy spread of Greens mixed into the middle section.

Working this way forced me to flex some different Color Theory ideas than I typically do in these Abstract Murals, especially since it's in such a unique/narrow viewing environment. Crazy Perspective Shifts and opportunities for Optical Illusions. I hope Vinnci Bit's guests have as much fun experiencing it as I did creating it. Make sure to book your room here when you go to Barcelona for Sónar and Primavera :)
