At newsstands now! Wired Magazine : App Guide (In collaboration with Gizmodo). One of my proudest projects of 2011. Earlier this Summer I was hired by Wired to illustrate 20 visual narratives for this special issue focusing on smart phone and tablet apps, and the people who use them. Each of the illos below is featured alongside a profile on a different person's digital habits (It will make more sense when you flip through the issue). Hopefully my abstracted icon narratives get your imagination wandering in the right direction. This assignment was a highlight of my year for many reasons. Great concepts and direction, as always, thanks Tim and Wired Crew! The scope of work ("You said 20?") paired with a fast track timeline ("Impossible takes a week."), put me in a rad creative groove. And most importantly, this project challenged me. I had to tell 20 stories in different, yet cohesive ways, and get the idea across without being too obvious. Great fun. Real pleased with the final result. Grab a copy! Click-Zoom.

Sretenka Design Week 2011.
Excited to return to Moscow next week for Sretenka Design Week 2011. In addition to my Sun Ray Ricochet exhibition at Tsvetnoy (15 large canvases painted in Moscow in August) I will also be painting some next level murals in and around the festival area. Stay tuned!
It's a real honor to be involved in this event alongside so many talented architects, designers, artists, and mural painters. I can't wait to see The City taken over by truly Contemporary Design.

2012 Snow Business.
I had the pleasure of collaborating with K2 Snowboarding on another collection. This time for the ladies. The 2012 Fling features some of my abstract graphics on the top (not the base). Always interesting to see what happens after the hand off of my vector patterns. Nice work K2 board crew. Shred worthy! Thanks again. *Also check out the 2008 K2 Astar Collection I worked on. A personal favorite!
Here's a cool Video that showcases some tech specs. The sport has come a long way.
Another fun set of graphics that I almost forgot I worked on (way back in 2009) is this series of skis for Atomic. Pictured above is the Drifter. This artwork also comes in Green as Charter and Red as Aspect.
The original watercolor artwork from my B/W B:4 Series that was remixed to feng shui onto the skis.
This one was a lot of fun to work on and the final result is fresh! Starting with a raw wood background I designed these graphics to be a 3-color screen print with the wood visible in choice spots. Underneath a healthy coat of fiberglass of course. A crisp, clean, earthy vibe. Thanks again guys! Click-Zoom.
Here's one of the reference images from my archive the guys at Atomic were digging. The Rewind DVD Packaging for my friend Brian Solano. That Future-Nature YO. Enjoy the slopes this year everyone :)

Autumnal Camouflage.
Took advantage of the amazing weather today and painted this groovy camo jam. Click-Zoom.
Still trying to find the perfect balance of color & legibility with these pieces. I made the mistake of outlining the letterforms on the 1st One I painted. The 2nd One was better but still quite easy to decipher. The next one will be a consistent color palette for the foreground and background. I think that will make for a more challenging and enjoyable read. Just as a test for my eye I converted a photo of the one I painted today to Greyscale. It's crazy how much heavy lifting the colors do in work like this.

Core Deco : Tiles For Miles.
Visited with my friend Dom at The Arm Factory today to check out the ceramic tiles they are screen printing for the soon-to-be-unveiled Core Deco debut collection.
Lots of great stuff being actualized these days (and nights). Much more news soon...
It's a dream come true to see my graphics alive on tiles. This is just the beginning :)
Sun Ray Ricochet : Sretenka Design Week.
"A new series of canvas paintings by American graphic artist Matt M. Moore. Painted during an August 2011 residency in Moscow. Inspired by experiences and excursions in this wonderful city. The juxtaposition of old and new, asymmetrical architecture, shadow play, reflections, optical illusions, the vibrant colors, and the ever present buzz of this mega city. As if you are looking at a crystal through a magnifying glass, each artwork is a celebration of a small moment from an infinite landscape of geometry, color, and illusion. Choose your own adventure!" 'Sun Ray Ricochet' will be exhibited at Tsvetnoy during Sretenka Design Week 2011. Opening Reception : 10/7. Artist Lecture : 10/9. Murals : 10/7 – 10/16. Woohoo! лоокинг вперед!

10 Year Maine-iac.
Crazy how time flies... Exactly 10 years ago I moved to Portland, Maine to finish up my Graphic Design BFA at MECA. At the time I had no idea how long I would stick around. Safe to say now, I am a seasoned Maine-iac and am here to stay. I still get a big grin whenever I return from travel to this little seaside city. It's a magical place, and I am truly grateful to have such wildly creative friends here. We live a bike ride from many Beaches, a quick boat ride to many Islands, the east coast's best Mountains in our backyard, no rush hour, no pollution, no drama, and plenty of Lobsters. Yeah Maine... "The Way Life Should Be."
