XYZ Axis Mural : Finishing Touches.

After a marathon week of painting I (and my imaginary clones) am finally done with this mega wall. My favorite mural yet! Super detailed with op-art zing, implied push/pull, facets, bits, and crystalline craziness. Especially pleased with the Cold VS. Hot juxtaposition. *Video dropping next week.

Pastel Easter Colorway.

Put the finishing touches on this one late last night. A fun new twist with the muted pastel color palette. Mega Drumline Grid.

Holy smokes! Video & More Info. What exactly is Drumline? This thing turned out amazing. When The Creek Percussion commissioned me to design this artwork for their floor grid I had no idea it would be so huge. It actually became the blueprint for their movements on the field. Crazy cool. Thanks guys!

Mandalas : Micro + Macro.

Here's a preview of a new series I just wrapped up last weekend. White ink on black watercolor paper. The series is 5 strong and explores different vantage points on an infinite sea of Mandalas. I will be releasing a limited run set of signed/numbered posters of all 5 of them at my Online Store in a few weeks. Working in Black & White is always a good time! Zoom.

Eyes.

I saw a show on TV the other day with a guy who was showing off his collection of antique glass eyes. It got me thinking about doing a new series of eye paintings. And then I was trying to remember all of the different eyes I have illustrated over the years. Well here's a bunch of them. A couple from my Vectorfunk Portraits, some from B/W B:3 and B/W B:5, the Ludwig Remix, and the center one is a photo of my left eye. Stay tuned for some fun new ones in the coming months. Zoom.

l'Orée des Bois : K-6 Workshop.

A few months ago a teacher from l'Orée des Bois Elementary School in Quebec contacted me about being involved in an Art Workshop that included all of their 500 students in K-6 classes. I was thrilled and honored to be selected, and put together a nice pack of posters, prints, and books for them. Now 4 months later they've sent photos of the results. Awesome! They did their names in the geo-style of my Google Logos, and painted self-portraits in the style of my Ray-Ban Campaign...

They made some great Op-Art compositions inspired by my Cycles & Seasons Series, and painted canvases like These. They even made their own alphabet like my Alphafont 3.0 Series...

BIG Thanks to the staff and "Little Artists" at l'Orée des Bois. This is one of the greatest compliments I've ever received. Now you have inspired me even more than my work inspired you. Merci beaucoup!

Never Been One To Watch Paint Dry.

Sunday Session : Undertow.

Had a blast painting this one today. It was a balmy 48°F and the sun was shining strong. This organic style has been a focus in some of my recent canvas paintings so I decided to bring these ideas to the wall and see what happened. Quite pleased with the results. Click-Zoom to see BIG version.

I was battling strong coastal winds all day but managed to pull it together with some clean chops. Feels great to be back in spraypaint zone. Summer 2011 will be a scorcher. Zoom.

I've gotten to the point with most of my work where I just freestyle it and make it up as I go. But I must admit I did sketch a blueprint for this one. *I did however forget to bring gloves with me. Doh!
