Symptoms Collective.

I recently worked with Symptoms Collective on their New Website & Online Store. The site is now live and ready for "choppers". These guys are family, many good times over the years. Swing through and show some love.I also had the pleasure of designing a lot of the tees currently available at the website (pictured above). All of Symptom's Gear is printed on top quality hemp-blend tees, always heavy-duty with attention to detail. Get nice! Click-Zoom.

Typography. URB Magazine.

My recent typeface exploration Alphafont 2.0 is featured in the new URB Magazine. "High Gloss", an article on Chicago's notorious Kid Sister. Nigel Dennis (ElectricHeat) did the photo treatment and Chuck Anderson (NoPattern) rocked the cover. Another great issue from The KDU & URB! Click-Zoom.

MWM X Shed. v.2

Today I jammed out on a new mural on Sirky's barn. The day began with buffing my old mural from last Fall. While rolling over my old jam I was thinking of a dozen ways to be even fresher this time. Things got tricky when the hornets swarmed, three nests, damn... No worries though, spraypaint makes an awesome flame-thrower!Started pretty loose with a focus on the corner. It's always fun painting around corners and trying to have things line up in perspective. Harder than it looks. Then I just went crazy with it and tried to weave as many layers in as possible. Even though there is a lot going on, I think it came off really clean and cohesive with the green palette. Good times. Nothing better than a perfect summer day, with good paint, good friends, and cold beers. Looking forward to Shed v.3 in Spring 09! Click-Zoom.

The revolution continues.

Nothing will ever take the place of a great magazine or book in your lap, at the beach, on a flight, in your hammock... But these guys are making serious strides to make magazines available for free, online, with no paper. PDF-Mags.com was first, then Issuu.com, and now Mygazine.com. Everything from indy-zines to National Geographic to top fashion glossies. Now if someone would just make a keyboard add-on to make flipping pages a bit easier without all the clicking...

Remember StarTAC?

I couldn't help but reflect, waiting in a retarded line for my new 3G iPhone, about how "huge" the StarTAC was when it dropped. It was so crucial, so hard to live without. Technology is funny like that. In 1998, trading in my pager for a cell phone seemed like the end of inconvenience. Now, 10 years later, having a new "mini-laptop ipod-GPS-email jammer" in my pocket feels the same way. Probably only for a little while... but iDig it. Viva Mac! (*FYI. It is actually really easy to evade a Verizon contract without paying cancellation fees. The iPhone really is that good in comparison to almost all Verizon phones. If you need reliable mobile email or if you travel the world, you are in luck. And don't let them cut to 50%... Go for the throat.)

Christopher Bevans.

Big bro Christopher Bevans has a nice spot in WSGN. Stay tuned for a special CBxMWM collabo series hitting hangers in 09.

Polar-Optics.

"I've been doing this for years kid, you're just now showing up."
It was a little bittersweet to see this style of sunglasses has finally hit the "streetwear" market. Hopefully it doesn't blow up too big (trucker hat style). For ten strong years I've been proudly rocking this style of glacier/polarized/peripheral-blocking gems. You have no idea how many noogies I've caught, for real. My personal collection is 13 unique models strong, from three continents, and never more than 20 bucks a pair. If you have never tried polarized shades, you are seriously missing out on an exciting parallel universe. One where you can see through the worst glare on a fishing day, incog people watch, and never see a computer screen... it blacks out. Try it!

Boomerang to Boston.

Back in the studio. Well rested, fully charged, and ready to rock. July will be a scorcher!
