I recently had the honor of flexing vector-style on these two massive vinyl Nike Dunk murals for an event at ROJO Artspace, Barcelona. Click-Zoom for details.
My great friend Tim Clorius from Portland, Maine has two new websites. One for his fine art, TimClorius.com and one for his graffiti, SubOne.us. Keep Tim on your radar in 08, big projects on the horizon. Check this mural Tim and I painted a few summers ago.
Stefan Sagmeister, one of the most celebrated contemporary graphic designers, has released a radical new book called Things I have Learned In My Life So Far. This book is a new favorite of mine for many reasons. I suggest it to anyone working in the design field, and anyone with a fondness for great ideas and unique executions. Be prepared to be surprised. More on Sagmeister here.
My good friend Jeff Proctor just updated his webfolio with a bunch of work for Nike SB, Manik, Burton and more. Jeff and I schooled together at MECA back in the day. We'd see each other all the time, I think we were the only two students seriously chasing graphic design and fine art simultaneously. Jeff is a really talented dude, check out his work. I especially dig the Manik portraits and John McEnroe Nike SB tee.
The new Bones Magazine just dropped. A couple of the Spaceknuckle X MWM illustrations are featured. This is the "Hardcore" issue, and it looks and sounds great. These guys are really pushing the envelope on what a free cyber-zine can be. "Each issue comes in 3 Parts; A PDF magazine so you can read it online or print it out depending on your carbon foot print, A 30 minute audio podcast and A 5 minute video podcast." iTunes Subscribe to Bones Magazine.
Even if I only have 15 minutes, I always surf through these sites everyday. PSFK, ffffound, SlamX, ROJO, IllustrationMundo. Bookmark/RSS and stay dialed in.
This weekend I took a break from working on my black and white B:4 illustrations. I needed to spin out "vector-style", and there is no better inspiration than sacred geometry. Click-Zoom.
Earlier this week I had the honor of speaking with Carmel Hagen of JoshSpear.com, a pioneer of lifestyle, fashion, art, culture, tastemaker blogging. This interview focused on my "double life" as Carmel put it. The balancing act of day job and personal work, specifically my lifelong B&W Series. MWM X SpearTalks Interview.
